MY TOP FIVE FAVOURITE MOVIES

by - Friday, February 23, 2018

I recently lost my job, so naturally I have a lot of time on my hands, so this post is something I’ve been really into lately. I’ve been watching a lot of films and I wanted to share my top ten favourite films with you all. This list isn’t in any particular order. Let me know what your favourite films are in the comments or tweet me!

There may be a few spoilers in this, but I promise I’ll try not to!

  • 500 Days Of Summer
  • Gone Girl
  • The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
  • Safe Haven
  • Hurricane Bianca
Ok, so, if you know me you’ll know my all time favourite film is 500 days of summer. I don’t know why it is, it just is. I love the soundtrack, I love the actors and actresses in it and I adore the story line.
Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt have to be the most talented duo!! 500 Days Of Summer is a romantic comedy (my favourite type of film, for sure.) It starts a little sad but with hints of comedy, you go through all the days that Tom, Joseph Gordon Levitt’s character and Summer, Zooey Deschanel’s character were together. You see some bits of their relationship in ‘real-time’ and every time I watch it, it gets me right in the feels! I’m trying not to give anything away but I highly recommend giving it a watch.

If you haven’t seen or read Gone Girl, whyyyyy? It’s absolutely crazy, it messes with your head… but what I find about this film is the more you watch it the more you put pieces of the puzzle together. The film is super long, by super long I mean 2 and a half hours but its brilliant! The story has got so many different layers to it, and I love that. It makes you think. The cast is simply amazing and completely draws you in. If you know of any more films/books like this, please let me know!!

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is so beautifully scripted, played and written. I read the book before I watched the film; I’d heard so many great things about the film I went and bought it on DVD. I think Logan Lerman plays Charlie sooooo well, I don’t think I’d be able to picture anyone else convey him! The storyline is so beautiful it definitely made me think about how I was in school. Everyone talks about Emma Watson in this film but I think Logan Lerman wins this one for me.

If you fancy a good ol' cry then Safe Haven is most definitely the film for you. One day I turned my tv on and this had just started so I thought I'd give it a go, my god I was in TEARS by the end of it. When I say tears, I mean, the top half of my pyjama top was soaked with tears, my eyes were sore and I couldn't stop sniffling! Julianne Hough who plays Katie is the most stunning woman I've ever seen, jeeeez, my self esteem hit an all time low watching this. I have heard the book is just as good as the film but I feel like this is one film I don't wanna ruin by seeing another perspective.. most films with books add and take away bits but this was just so beautiful. The storyline is lovely *SPOILER* (kinda) and it was shot sooo beautifully too.

Everyone needs to watch this film. Bianca Del Rio is hands down the funniest drag queen, ever. When she was on Drag Race I couldn't help but love her! I think if I had of watched the film first I would of thought she was a bit too much, I'm glad I watched her season on Drag Race first. There are so many lol's throughout this movie.
