Happy new year guys! Here's to 2018, let's hope it's a good'un for us all.

In 2017 I learnt a few lessons. The first is Save your money. In 2017 I started a new job, granted I didn't like it much but it was my income, it was me learning about that profession and it also taught me to never start my own business. I was at this place for all of 4 months before they laid me off, although it was a weight off my own shoulders it left me in a position of not having any income. I'm not a great saver, I see things and immediately purchase. I don't think about what I'm doing. It's a problem, I know.

People come and go. This is something I struggled to understand. I couldn't get my head around people coming into my life and walking straight back out of it. Now looking back, it all makes sense. These people came into my life for a reason and they went back out of it, again, for a reason. Who knows what the reason is but it'll all come together.

Social media is a show. Who posts shit days on social media? Nobody. I realised this while watching family vloggers. I can't remember which family it was in particular but someone had commented on a video of theirs and said 'Your life is just soooo perfect' and they addressed it by saying 'It's definitely not perfect, we show 15 minutes of our 24 hour day. We don't show the kids arguing or fighting with each other and we don't show us disciplining them. Our life is not perfect.' it hit me hard realising that, yeah, I only post photos when I've got makeup on and my hairs done. Madness when you realise.

These are just 3 of the lessons I learnt in 2017, what did you learn? If you have any tips for me on how to save money, let me know in the comments below! I'd love to read some of your tips and tricks.

Where have I been I hear you ask, well never fear I'm back! I took some time off from blogging because I simply had bloggers block. I've been trying to gather ideas for posts while I've been away and I think I have a few I can go on with until the next dreaded bloggers block. I hope you keep on reading and enjoy whats coming up in the next couple of months.

Whats new? - I started at university in October and I was convinced I would hate it and that I'd drop out but it's been a little over a month and I'm completely in love with it. I never thought the university path would be for me as I started to dread any form of education earlier this year. I'm currently studying Fashion and Textiles. It's great, I've had a few ups and downs with my anxiety while being at university but nevertheless I've overcome it. If any of you have any questions about university - don't be afraid to message/tweet me I'd love to answer your questions.

Whats going to happen next? - I don't completely know myself yet, all I do know is I wont be posting as frequently as I used to. Throughout the summer I posted nearly everyday sometimes even twice in one day but now I'm caught up with working, university and having to juggle time to see friends and family - I'll post when I can. There will be some posts that will be set to post at certain times as where I work gets super busy around the Christmas period and I'm needed nearly everyday.

I watched a couple of tutorials on YouTube and a lot of them featured this sponge in it, I've never really got on with make-up sponges but this is completely different.. I love it. It does exactly what is says on the packaging. I use it both damp and dry. I've always liked the Real Technique brushes, I use them on a daily basis but I since having this I haven't used my base brushes. I wash mine after every use although I do now have two huge rips in it which was disappointing but that's my own fault.

This product gives such an even coverage with whatever foundation you use. You can also build coverage with this sponge if you like. I use the different sides and edges for different things, I use the point to blend my highlighter and I use the flat edge to conceal under my eyes and around my nose. It's so easy to use. Sam did a tutorial about how to use it I'll link it here.

I've not had a beauty blender myself but my friends have and they said they wish they had waited for this product before splurging out on the beauty blender which was around £15.00

Which do you prefer? The beauty blender or the RT miracle complexion sponge?

I am by no means at one with nature but I couldn't help but bring my camera along to a friendly outing and take some snaps for you guys, not all of you will appreciate this.. I understand.

I don't really go out and/or see my friends much now I've finished sixth form, we meet up for birthdays and for outing to the pub once in a while but that's all really. We all went our separate ways, working, becoming a hermit (ahah) and going on to learn new things. I've missed spending everyday except weekends with them so I decided to round everyone up and go to a really cute little park, well.. I say little, it's pretty big but hey ho! I brought my camera along for the journey and after pondering on the way to the park about what I could blog about next, this post came to mind..

I'm not sure how to say this without it sounding really cheesy and cringy.. but like I said above, I miss my friends and how close we were.

I went to my brothers graduation today (yes, there will be a post on it!) and one of the chancellors said "Don't forget where you came from, remember who your friends are and always keep in touch with them. You be the one to make sure everyone meets up at least once a year". It got me thinking and from now on I'm going to make sure we all see each other once a week even if its just going to the pub, going to a park, or even just driving around and having a chat. I just thought it would be a really nice idea to sort something out for us this summer before we all go our separate ways in September/October.

I just wanted to say that if you miss something.. do something about it. I did and now we're planning stuff to do weeks ahead!

P.s. Sorry for the cheesy post ;-)

Hey there!
It's been a little over a month since I last posted and I have no excuses as to why I haven't posted anything in a while so I'm just gonna get straight into a new blog post.

I've been wanting to do a TAG blog post for a while so why not start with this one!?

1. What is your favourite drugstore make-up brand?
Considering that I'm more of a drugstore girl (the cheaper the better as I'm a student) this has got to be the hardest question on this tag. I think Maybelline or MUA has got to be my favourite brand!

2. What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products?
Without a doubt my top two favourite face products have got to be L'oreal infallible 24H foundation and Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent. My favourite cheek product is the MUA powder blushers, I really like the shade Bon Bon - it suits my pale skin well. Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in Nothing but Nude is my all time favourite lip product!

3. Least favourite product?
My least favourite is the MUA eyeshadow trio in Innocence, the packaging and formula are awful but I guess you never know until you try it!

4. The best make-up bargain?
My best make-up bargain is from an online shop but it's Maybelline Colossal Mascara in Blackest Black, you can always find a deal on it whether it's 3 for 2 or Buy one and get one half price.

5. What is your favourite underdog product?
For sure ModelsOwn moisturising lip balm in Bubblegum, not only does it have the nicest smell but it keeps your lips moisturised throughout the day.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
I love them but for sure the Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butters!

7. What is your best drugstore dupe?
MUA Lipsticks, The pigment and shades are practically the same as MAC just a lot cheaper!

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
I use it most days but it isn't worth the hype at all.. MUA undress your skin shimmer highlighter.

And that's the TAG complete, I really enjoyed it. I had a rummage through my make-up drawers and found things I thought I had lost. Seriously.. If you're a make-up hoarder like me I urge you to do this TAG, just like me you might find something you thought you had lost!

So many of you probably have no clue that a couple days ago I went for my University interview. I thought I should write a post on it but that would be a very small post so I'm adding how it was applying for University.

In September I walked into my form room and my tutor told me to start thinking about if I wanted to go to UNI or if I wanted to go into work, but I'm already working (part-time) and I knew I didn't want to do that every day so from day one I had to think about if I wanted to go to UNI or not. I thought about it for a month and I was dead set against going to UNI, I didn't want the debt, I didn't want to move and the course I wanted to do was 40 odd miles away so that was a no-no from the start. After a couple more weeks of hearing about the meetings at school to do with UCAS and UNI's (and people actually turning up!) I thought well if they aren't bothered about the debt and about moving away, why should I? So I spoke to my form tutor about what I wanted to do and what I didn't and he suggested to me about taking a gap year but I knew that I wouldn't go back if I did, so again another no-no. He then suggested what about staying at home for UNI and looking at a course here but they didn't have the course I originally wanted to do, I went away for another week or two and we (we being my tutor, art teacher and I) discussed the pro's and con's about UNI. I then made my mind up and applied for UCAS and did my personal statement (which I was dreading doing because of the fuss everyone else made about it from older years) but I quite enjoyed writing my personal statement, It took me three drafts but I did it! I then had to take my money in and I had to apply for one - five UNI's but I only applied for one. My head of year finally sent off my UCAS and within two - three days I had a email back from UCAS saying the UNI I applied for wanted to see my portfolio and interview me, so in a mad dash I ran to sixth form (on my day off!!) and my fabulous (no exaggeration) art teacher made time for me and helped me so much to pick what pieces of work to put in my portfolio. Then on the Monday I was finishing work with her it took us all day, no word of a lie. On the Tuesday I had both of my amazing art teachers help me put my work together for my portfolio and by 2 o'clock it was done and dusted and I could stop worrying.. but no! Me being the worry wart I am thought about the actual interviewing process - what would they ask me? what if I freeze up? what if I don't understand what they mean? etc but my teacher wrote down some typical questions they would ask me. I studied them over night and the morning of the interview.

I got to the UNI and they called all of the courses out one by one and surely mine was last. There was only four of us that had our interview on that day so we followed the student who took us to the floor of the course and we sat and waited. Three tutors at the UNI asked us all to put our work out on the desk and then to sit back down and complete a questionnaire. Once I was sat down doing my questionnaire all the nerves had gone! I got called over by a tutor who my teachers had once had teaching them she asked me lots of different questions like what I'd like to do after UNI and where I'd like to be in 5 years etc. I must add we all had our interview in the same room at the same time about 3 meters apart.  The interview process was over. I now just had to wait for my answer as they couldn't give it us on the day. Two days later I had a reply from them I received a conditional offer which means that I'll be allowed in on conditions that I get my grades - MMP. I just hope I get them!

If you guys have any more questions etc about the whole UNI process just leave a comment and I'll try to get back to you! I hope this has helped you:-)
